" It is necessary to develop a strategy that utilizes all the physical conditions and elements that are directly at hand. The best strategy relies upon an unlimited set of responses. "

Beginners

In The Beginning

Firstly we need you to observe a class at the dojo you will be attending, this is so that you can see how we train and know what to expect. At this time you can ask any questions you may have and pick up application forms etc.

Which Classes can I attend?

There are Beginners classes at both Olympic Park and Leichhardt, these classes run continuously, so you may start at anytime. Other dojos will start beginners at any time in their regular classes, talk to the instructor.
Once you are confident about rolling you can join any of the other classes.

How much does it cost?

Most beginners prefer to use our Special Offer of 10 classes for $100. Otherwise you will need to take out a membership with Aiki Kai Australia before you start training then pay either the monthly or casual training fee, check the fees page for further details.

What do I wear?

It is not necessary to purchase a uniform or weapons for your first class, it is quite alright to wear track suite pants and a tee shirt, as long as you don't mind rolling in them.

What Equipment do I need?

Initially none, eventually you will want to purchase a uniform, these cost around $80 and can be purchased at either a martial arts shop or the dojo. Other items you will need are a Jo (wooden fighting stick) about $35, a bokken (wooden sword) about $40 and a tanto (wooden knife).

Membership Forms

Print off the membership form on the AikiKai Australia website and fill it in, then either bring it with you to the dojo or send it directly to AikiKai Australia with payment.
